Justin Vernon's "Into the Wild" story of spending a lonely winter in an isolated Northern Wisconsin cabin is perfect material for a magazine article, a movie, or maybe even a blog post... But the real story is the music he created there in solitude, later released as an album under the name Bon Iver. With the gentle guitar strum of Sam Beam and the high croon of a young Neil Young, he shows promise of being the next great folk musician.
Bon Iver's For Emma, Forever Ago will be reissued by Jagjaguwar on Feb 19. Get a free MP3 there, or just listen to a couple songs here.
